Federer Awes Qatar For A New Record

The world has been monitoring all of Roger Federer’s game and in no doubt he has proven himself once more. In the history of Qatar Open, no other renowned tennis player was able to have three wins like what Federer did. He defeated Nikolay Davydenko last Saturday in the final game.

“I have had a good week. I really appreciate the support I get here. I have had good preparation. I can’t believe that I am on the board already this year,” He told the told reporters. Davydenko on the other hand admitted that Federer was tough and really played fast. “He gave me no chance on the return, and also he was returning good. His first serve was very good,” Davydenko added.

Davydenko defeated the world’s no. 1 Nadal in the semis who happens to be Federer’s tough opponent ever since. It wasn’t totally a loss for Nadal afterall as they were able to win the doubles title with fellow Spaniard Marc Lopez. They defeated Italy’s Daniele Bracciali and Andreas Seppi 6-3 7-6 (7-4) in Friday’s final.

The opening of 2011 has revealed shocking news in the world of tennis. The United States won the Hopman Cup mixed teams event for the sixth time on Saturday while the top seed Serbia withdraw from the finals due to Ana Ivanovic’s stomach injury.
